One of the things I love about learning languages online is the number of free quality resources available on the web. When I was a student, one of the hardest goals for me was to get good pronunciation. Now when I see what there is out there I say, “Maybe I should’ve waited a little… it might’ve been much easier”.
Here is a video you can find at www.sozoexchange.com. This initiative produces high quality materials to help adults learn English. This is great work. You can practice your pronunciation with their Daily Pronunciation video series. They also teach vocabulary, expressions and other useful stuff.
One way you can practice with this particular video is to record your voice at the same time you listen to it. Listen as you read and then repeat it to the microphone. You may pause the video if you think is too fast for you. After the recording, compare your pronunciation with her pronunciation. This mechanical activity -if done frequently- will definitely help you improve your phonetics. Hey! I said mechanical activity. Well, pronunciation is more mechanical than conceptual.
